Development of an Intelligent Conveyor Belt Monitoring System
An EU co-financed research project with Kaunas University of Technology, developing a sensor-based device for early diagnostics of conveyor belt condition.
About the project
By using innovative and modern sensor technologies, the project aims to create an environmentally friendly product that enables timely diagnostics of conveyor belt condition and potential failures, while also identifying preventive measures.
Project details
- Project implementer: UAB Baltic Traders Group LT
- Project partner: Kaunas University of Technology
- Goal: a prototype of an intelligent conveyor belt monitoring device
- Timeline: June 2025 – June 2027
- Total value: EUR 266,602, of which EUR 190,788 from the European Regional Development Fund
- Co-financed by the European Union
Why it matters
Belt failures are among the most expensive conveyor stoppages. Continuous condition monitoring helps plan repairs before a failure, reducing downtime and waste.
